She is the second Board member to bring direct knowledge of challenges and charities in the north of the county, where she also has her home. Her experience is particularly beneficial to our Health and Wellbeing Subcommittee, with increasing numbers of applications from the Peterborough area. She has been a volunteer manager within the charity sector for more than ten years, including at Peterborough Citizens Advice Bureau and then at Cambridge Citizens Advice Bureau, where she is now the Deputy Chief Executive. She is an avid volunteer herself, having given her free time within the Girl Guiding movement, with environmental organisations and with those who find themselves homeless. She is passionate about encouraging people to share their skills and experiences, and has enjoyed training people on a range of technical subjects, with benefit from her teaching and science background.
