In September, trustee Amy Agnew attended the opening of the elegant new Nuffield Health hospital in Trumpington Road, Cambridge, on the site of the original Evelyn nursing home, endowed by Morland Agnew, Amy’s great-great-grandfather. Amy was thrilled to meet His Royal Highness, The Duke of Gloucester, as he opened the new state-of-the-art facility and also to visit in the grounds the memorial to Morland and his wife Evelyn, after whom the original nursing home was named.

“It was poignant also for me to visit the new Evelyn Ward, named by Nuffield Health both to commemorate the history of care on this site and my great-great-grandmother. The Evelyn nursing home is fondly remembered in Cambridge and I’m proud that now the Evelyn Trust continues to make a valuable contribution to life in Cambridge and the wider world.”
