Bob Bradfield became a trustee in 2003, shortly after the sale of the hospital and was Chairman from 2005 until 2011. During this time the trust completed its transition from hospital to grant making charity, refining its procedures and involving people with the necessary skills for its current role. He continues to be actively involved in many aspects of the work of the trust, has chaired the Investment Committee and currently chairs the Audit Committee.
Bob was born and brought up in Cambridge and read Engineering at the University. He trained as a Chartered Accountant and then worked in finance in the City until retiring in 2003. Since then he has been involved with several charities, with a focus on education and the development of young people, as well as healthcare. He spends much of his time pursuing his hobby of hydrographic surveying and cartography, mainly on the West Coast of Scotland.
He is married to Sarah, a former physiotherapist, and has three adult children, all of whom were born at The Rosie.
